The Love Song Written For Her Baby, wrap me up keep me from the cold Like a fuzzy blanket tucked around my soul When the wind blows chilly and the sky goes dark Wrap me up in your warm, warm heart.
It isn't unheard of for an artist to choose a single based upon a "gut feeling." What is unusual is that an artist is following her heart when making such a selection as is the case with Lisa O'Kane and her upcoming single. "Wrap Me Up" will be on the April Country HotDisc compilation. It is the second single from Lisa's PEACE OF MIND CD, also due out in April. According to Lisa, "It's my personal love song from the man with whom I'm deeply in love." It is also a surprise gift for Mark Fosson, who wrote the song, and who has no idea that Lisa has chosen it as her next single release.
Concertgoers have noticed a chemistry between Lisa and the talented singer/musician by her side, and it was during a performance that O'Kane heard the song for the very first time. "Mark and I were doing a writer's night when he announced that he was going to play a song that he'd just written, " says Lisa. "When he finished, he told the audience that it was about me. I was absolutely speechless that someone could write words of love in such a tender manner. Our relationship just took off from that point. He touches my heart every day, but this song touches my heart every time I hear it, sing it, or hear Mark perform it."
A lilting, acoustic first verse sets the stage for Fosson's tender lyrics and O'Kane's enchanting vocal. The chorus escalates to include some remarkable acoustic guitar and dobro, and the fiddle leaves you swaying in your seat. "Wrap Me Up" touches upon all the everyday things that are special about love and relationships. Mark's harmony vocals wrap O'Kane's lead beautifully, creating a magic that is undeniable. "I'm happier than I've ever been, " says O'Kane. "He wraps me up in his love - and it's an amazing feeling."
